Six years after making it all the way to The X Factor final, where she lost to eventual champion Dalton Harris, singer Scarlett Lee thought she'd give American Idol a try - and she's been successful so far. But the singer, 26, looked unrecognisable from her X Factor days as she joined Dermot O'Leary on the This Morning sofa on Friday to discuss her recent success across the pond.
The pair would have first met back in 2018 when Scarlett competed in the singing competition when presenter Dermot, 50, who hosted it. Dermot, who now hosts This Morning, gushed over reuniting with Scarlett and his co-host Josie Gibson described how it looked like they must have been "a family back then." But Scarlett looked completely different from when she auditioned for The X Factor in 2017.
The singer returned in 2018, where she finished the singing competition as runner-up.
Now, Scarlett is back on the TV talent circuit as a contestant in American Idol, where she has wowed judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Instead of wearing her hair in her iconic big bouffant style, the star wore her brunette locks in a naturally wavy do'.
She also appeared to have ditched the layers of fake tan she opted for during her X Factor days. Dermot started the interview by saying: "Scarlett, so nice to see you again!" to which Scarlett replied: "Dermot, I'm going to get emotional, it's so lovely to see you, honestly!" Josie added: "Scarlett, when you came in, it was so beautiful because you've obviously been reunited with Dermot, you've been reunited with Dermot's team, it was so lovely to see you all reunited.
