ITV Emmerdale's Rishi unrecognisable after leaving soap as he reunites with co-star

A former Emmerdale star is set for major surgery and has shared a snap from his hospital bed. Matthew Wolfenden, known for his role as David Metcalfe on the hit ITV soap, has revealed to fans that he's facing an operation this week, coming shortly after confirmation that his character won't be making a comeback to the Dales. The 43 year old actor, who graced our screens from 2006 until his exit last year, was last seen in the village in November.

Actor Reece Dinsdale is no stranger to soaps. He not only played Emmerdale's villainous Paul Ashdale, until the character was killed off in an explosion back in 2021, but he also starred in Coronation Street, where he played Michelle Keegan's on-screen father, Joe McIntyre. And the star once admitted he wouldn't have made his way on to the Cobbles if it hadn't have been for Michelle's acting skills.
