World-renowned violinist and conductor André Rieu has announced a major UK and Ireland tour - featuring a big show at Manchester’s Co-op Live.
Dubbed the ‘King of Waltz’, André has sold more than 40 million albums around the world and has been handed over 500 platinum awards for his musical efforts. Having founded the 60-member Johann Strauss Orchestra since 1987, he’s become a leading force when it comes to live shows.
The UK and Ireland tour, which will take place in April and May 2025, will mark 200 years since the birth of Austrian composer Johann Strauss, who went on to create a number of operettas including Die Fledermaus, Eine Nacht in Venedig, and Der Zigeunerbaron.

Allowing audiences to hear music made by the original ‘Waltz King’, performed by the new ‘King of Waltz’, will be a special moment for fans of classical music and will come to Co-op Live in Manchester on April 3, 2025, with tickets on sale here from Friday (June 7).
The tour will also feature shows in Nottingham, Liverpool, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, London and Birmingham. "It's always a special experience for me to perform in the UK and Ireland,” André said of the upcoming gigs.
“I love the energy and enthusiasm of the fans there and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming tour. It will be one to remember.”
The show promises to feature a selection of popular songs from opera and musicals, as well as film scores, ballads and, naturally, well-celebrated waltzes. There will also be opulent stage decorations and elaborate costumes to add to the captivating atmosphere.
