A woman who woke up from a month-long coma has told how she was ghosted by her partner who moved on with someone else.
After Brie Duval moved from Australia to Canada, she working in her dream job and was in a great relationship at the age of 25.
However, her almost perfect life soon came crumbling down around her following a disaster during a night out last year.
On Sunday, August 29, Brie ended up having a horrific fall down a car park which was currently undergoing construction.
This ongoing work that one of the walls hadn't been finished, resulting in a drop directly down to the pavement, the Mirror reports.
In the darkness, it was difficult to see and with no signs or tape covering the drop, Brie ended up falling headfirst over the edge.
She was airlifted to the University of Alberta Hospital and placed on life support with a brain injury and numerous broken bones.
Brie says she was in a coma for four weeks, with doctors telling her mum there was only a 10% chance of her pulling through.
Her parents refused to let the life support be turned off and within three weeks she had started showing signs of improvement.
When Brie finally woke up, she experienced some amnesia but was able to begin putting things together and was given her phone.
However, her partner of four years, who she had lived with, had ghosted her on social media and moved on with someone else.
Brie said: "I was finally given my phone and my first thought was to call him and just see if he knew what happened. He hadn't been to see me.
"So I opened my phone going to message him when a message pops up from this woman that says I am now with [partner's name]. I have moved him out. He's now living with me and my son, please do not contact him.
