The winners have been announced for the 2024 Critics Choice Super Awards!
The Critics Choice Association honors the best in Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action movies and television.
The Last of Us leads the television winners, sweeping all seven categories for which it was nominated. In the film categories, Godzilla Minus One, Mission: Impossible – Dead Recknoning, Poor Things, and Talk to Me all received two wins each.
There was some controversy when nominations were announced as the drama film All Of Us Strangers was nominated in horror categories, which many fans didn’t think was correct.

The awards, which honor fan-favorite genres in film and television, saw a diverse array of movies and TV shows garnering accolades from international critics and journalists.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director Jerrod Carmichael recently opened up to Esquire magazine about tensions with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle. Carmichael, who is making the press rounds in support of his new HBO series, generated headlines in June 2022 when he criticized Chappelle, who had already been earning backlash for making jokes about the transgender community. “Chappelle, do you know what comes up when you Google your name, bro?” Carmichael asked during a GQ magazine profile at the time, referring to the comedian’s comments about trans people.
As we mentioned yesterday, Zoe Saldana’s next movie is the gripping immigration drama, “The Absence of Eden,” Directed by Marco Perego, in the film, Garrett Hedlund plays an ICE Agent struggling with the moral dilemmas of border security, and Saldana stars as an undocumented woman fighting to escape a ruthless cartel (Adria Arjona co-stars). In the film, the two characters eventually cross paths and work together to save an innocent girl’s life (see the trailer below).

The British performer, recognized as best actor for his one-man West End show, “Vanya,” previously was named best actor at the 2024 Critics’ Circle Film Awards for his performance in “All of Us Strangers.” He’s the first person to win lead actor Critics’ Circle prizes in both film and television in the same year. “It’s a thrilling delight,” Scott says.
