The streets of Wigan will be a lot more colourful this weekend as Wigan Pride returns with a jam-packed day of festivities and fun.
Taking over Wigan town centre on Saturday (August 12), the event promotes and celebrates equality and diversity by bringing together arts, music, street parade and positive messages together for the day.
First held in 2015, the event now attracts thousands of people and will feature a plethora of fun acts, including drag queens, singers and dancers.

The event, sponsored by Arnold Clark, will begin shortly after 11am with the parade leaving King Street. It will then travel via Hewlett Street, Standishgate and Mesnes Street before reaching Mesnes Park. The parade will then making its way back to Believe Square, at around 11.50am.
Over on the Unity Stage in the town centre from 11.50am, performer Claire Pilling and drag queen icon Misty Chance will host an afternoon of entertainment.
There will be appearances from the likes of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK stars Cheddar Gorgeous and Sminty Drop, alongside Natalie Pilkington, star of the smash hit musical Six, singer HUSK and saxophonist Damon Kerby.
There will also be notable tribute acts in the form of Hey Beatles and AKA Noel Gallagher, who will close the event’s entertainment on the main stage at around 5pm. There will also be a Quiet Zone in Makinson Arcade, run by Wigan's Autism Friends, if people need to take a break.
The Believe Stage in Believe square, which is managed by Council-led youth group BYOU, will feature acoustic sets from local acts and family-friendly entertainment between 12-5pm. There will also be a Pride photography exhibition.
