It’s set to be wet for the remainder of the weekend in Greater Manchester today — but it will stop raining soon.
The Met Office is forecasting either heavy or light rain throughout Sunday (July 23), but believes the wet weather will come to an end within 24 hours. It says clouds and sun will be in the city at 8am on Monday (July 24) — just in time for the start of the working week.
The news will not be welcomed by England cricket fans, as they would like a dry patch to see if Ben Stokes’ team can defeat Australia at Emirates Old Trafford. Doing so would take the Ashes to a deciding game in London next week.

Today’s weather will see highs of 17C and lows of 12C. A yellow weather warning is in place for rain, the Met Office adds.
“Rain, heavy at times, through Sunday is likely to cause some disruption, particularly to outdoor events,” the meteorological service said. “Spray and areas of standing water on roads making journey times longer and bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.”
