A woman has been left too scared to sleep in her own home after a brick was thrown through her front window, where she had placed a Palestinian flag.
The hospital doctor described the horrifying moment the brick was thrown through the living room window of her Salford flat at around 2.30am on Monday, February 5.
Recalling her terror, the 32-year-old who lives alone and is too scared to be named, said: “I was asleep and heard a very loud big bang that woke me up. I thought something had fallen in the kitchen and went to take a look but didn’t see anything then two minutes later I heard the window smashing.”

In a blind panic she ran to her living room and saw ‘glass everywhere’ and her front window smashed. She rushed over to the window, cutting her foot on the glass, but could not see anyone and only heard the sound of the car leaving.
She immediately called 999 and the police arrived shortly afterwards however after investigating they have been unable to trace her attacker and have closed the case.
“When I showed one of the police officer’s the brick he said it could have killed me,” she said.
“When I heard the first loud sound my heart was beating a lot and I thought I was imaging it, " she said. When the smashing of the window happened it was horrible, it was really scary. I was shivering and when I was speaking to the police after calling 999 my voice was shaking.
“I didn’t know what to do because I live alone.”
The woman said she has suffered ‘flashbacks’ and has struggled to sleep since the incident.
