When it comes to biscuits, custard creams are up there as a favourite.
In a list of the UK's top 10 favourite biscuits, they ranked sixth, beneath Biscoff, shortbread, bourbon, Jaffa Cake and Jammy Dodger, and above Party Rings, digestives, malted milk and Wagon Wheels.
While it's debatable as to whether at least two of those are even biscuits at all, we thought we'd put packs of the mid-ranking custard cream to the test.

We picked up a pack from each of the main supermarkets - Morrisons, M&S, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury's and Tesco.
Here's what we thought...
Appearance
Well, in all honesty, there's not that much difference at all.
Yes the outside covers may be different, although you can pretty much guarantee it's a yellow packet you're looking for - albeit of varying shades.
The biscuits themselves look almost identical, down to the intricate pattern and custard cream lettering inside a diamond shape. If anything, the biscuits from Aldi, Sainsbury's and Lidl are just a little darker in colour.
Size
They're all pretty much a standard shape and size, it's purely the pack sizes that differ. The smallest being the 150g pack from M&S, but the majority 400g. Lidl don't seem to have a single pack available, only one strip of custard creams inside its 700g Biscuit Assortment pack.
Texture and taste
Like their appearance, they don't differ too much on taste. The darker biscuits seem a little dryer, Tesco's was a bit too crumbly and Aldi's lacking in filling.
Asda's and M&S were notably softer, in a good way, while the Morrisons and Lidl ones drew compliments for the flavour and softness of the filling.
