Alan Shearer has told Wayne Rooney results must come quickly or risk being axed as Birmingham City manager.

But they have taken a risk by sacking Eustace - and replacing him with former Manchester United captain Rooney. Less than 48 hours after leaving his post at DC United, the 37-year-old was on a flight to England and agreeing terms with Birmingham.
Another ex-Three Lions skipper, Shearer, has warned Rooney that the negativity will ramp up should he fail to deliver instantly. Former United teammate Michael Carrick provides his first test when Birmingham travel to Middlesbrough this weekend.
