A Scots dog named Angel turned into a devil after he chewed through the front door of his house and left his owner with a £400 bill.
Pictures of the four-year-old Akita, XL Bully, went viral after surprised locals snapped him with his head hanging out the impressive hole where there was once a letterbox, at his home on Croftangry Road, Fife, on January 26.
The cheeky mutt appeared to be trying to make a bigger hole in its mission to escape.
Owner Wayne Connelly said he didn't know if he should laugh or cry after receiving a phone call from a neighbour before pictures of his dog's antics emerged online.
Wayne told the Daily Record he found Angel wagging his tail and looking very pleased with himself for what he had done.
The 35-year-old said: "My partner Jamie had nipped out for half an hour when she got a phone call from one of the neighbours to say what he had done.
"When I got home, he was just lying there, looking proud. His tail was wagging like mad. He was clearly happy with himself. I don't think he wanted to escape, I think he was just bored and looking for something to do.
"At first I wasn't happy with him. I was shocked at what he had done. To be honest I didn't know if I should laugh or cry at the situation. The pictures were funny, they actually looked photoshopped.
"But the reality was, he had chewed a hole in our door so I was raging.
"It's going to cost £400 and we've had to board it up now whilst we wait on it getting sorted."
Wayne's had Angel since he was six weeks old.
He added: "He's a great dog. He's just a big excitable bundle of joy. People are intimidated by him because of his size, but really he's just a lovely, big dog. He's harmless."
