Poppy Millhouse was on the red carpet to interview some of the biggest names in Hollywood on Sunday after winning an EE competition where she had to use EE filters to make a 60 second movie, writes Edinburgh Live.
Poppy’s mum, Robyn Bell, said: “We only had one day left to enter, and she was actually off school sick, but seemed to be well by lunch time. I said hey let’s do something fun and we managed to do it and edit it in an hour.
“You always see these amazing competitions and wonder what it would be like to win. The feeling of getting that notification was just indescribable.”
One week later the pair were whisked off London to stay in a five star hotel and chauffeured to and from the red carpet.
The eight-year-old asked the Banshees of Inisherin star to name as many films set in space as he possibly could in 15 seconds - a task Farrell found very amusing.

Poppy from Edinburgh said: "It was a once and in a lifetime opportunity, and my favourite was meeting the Queen of Wakanda, I had only watched the new Black Panther movie the week before. So to meet Angela was crazy, and her dress was so pretty.”
Proud mum Robyn added: "The red carpet may look like a fun place to be, but it is very very loud. My ears are so sore from all the photographers shouting, but to be there with Poppy was amazing. I am so proud of her, and to get to meet some of my favourite stars and share that

Marc Malkin Senior Film Awards, Events & Lifestyle Editor I was clean-shaven when I left for Palm Springs for Christmas. A few days later, I arrived back at home in Los Angeles with a beard. I didn’t plan on my new hirsute look. I just don’t like shaving. I avoid it when I can. But as my beard grew in, my friends started telling me they liked it. They remarked at how “distinguished” it looked with its mix of ginger and white. I worried I might appear older than I am, but my cousin insisted that she thought it actually made me look younger. I decided to go for a trial run by keeping the beard for the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s opening night gala red carpet. I needed to see how it looked on camera. The beard was a hit. Austin Butler told me he liked it and so did Colin Farrell. A few days later at the Golden Globes, Andrew Garfield said, “The beard looks nice. The ginger and white is like a Prince Harry thing you’ve got going on.”

Tim Gray Senior Vice President All five best-actor contenders this year are first-time Oscar nominees. Two are newbies, so that’s not surprising. But among the veterans, Colin Farrell is long overdue, after a 25-year career marked by breadth, daring and risk-taking. In Searchlight’s “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Farrell meets all the criteria for an Oscar win: There’s not a false note in the performance, it’s very different from what you’ve seen him do, and you can’t imagine anyone else playing the part.
