Victor Lindelof sends message to Erik ten Hag after Manchester United milestone

In his 200 games for Manchester United, Victor Lindelof has played at centre-back with eight different partners, but in a period of turmoil and turnover in that position he has been the great survivor.
Lindelof brought up the milestone at Goodison Park on Sunday with his latest defensive partner, Lisandro Martinez, a player he describes as a "warrior".
Harry Maguire is the player he has played alongside most often, but to sum up the length of his Old Trafford career his second most regular partner remains Chris Smalling, with 51 appearances next to each other.

Eric Bailly is in third and there was a time under Jose Mourinho when they were the first-choice defensive pairing. Bailly arrived a year before Lindelof and while the Ivorian has become a victim of the inconsistency at United, Lindelof has remained a constant.
Within weeks of signing a new deal Bailly was agitating for more football, but Lindelof has been the kind of player every dressing room needs. Since joining the club he has seen United spend £178million on three new central defenders, but he remains at the club and still has a part to play.
He is probably the fourth-choice for Erik ten Hag, behind those three signings in Martinez, Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire. But he started the season in the team and this week has been back in action, with Varane and Maguire injured.
Injuries in defence derailed Liverpool a couple of years ago, but in Lindelof United have a reliable squad player who knows opportunity will come occasionally and he is ready to take it.
