Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has impressed Gary Neville after overseeing a positive response to the team's crushing loss in the Manchester derby at the beginning of the month.
Ten Hag's side have responded as well as possible to the 6-3 defeat thanks to a tight 3-2 victory away at Omonia Nicosia on Thursday and a 2-1 win at Goodison Park three days later. The mood around Old Trafford is once again more positive as they prepare for two home matches in the next few days against Omonia and Newcastle United.

Speaking on Sky Bet's The Overlap, Neville spoke highly of Ten Hag and about how the Reds have recovered. "The reason I didn’t feel that Manchester United’s 6-3 loss to Manchester City didn’t feel that bad because if we beat Everton – which we did – I could accept last weekend, because they’re back on track again," he explained.
"Erik ten Hag has impressed me – he has come out of that transfer window, which was an absolute shocker. The handling of Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire, and even Luke Shaw coming back into the squad and the way he handled the 4-0 defeat at Brentford, I have to say it’s pretty impressive.
"Those bids for Casemiro and Antony went in 24-48 hours prior to the Liverpool game, after the 4-0 loss to Brentford, and Liverpool coming to Old Trafford was going to be the graveyard game. When he made the players run 13kms after Brentford, that could’ve gone badly wrong and seen as a gimmick if they would’ve lost – it was a risk, but it paid off."
