A van turned into a fireball after bursting into flames on a residential street in Fife.
The white Ford Transit was stationary on Kingsdale Gardens in Kennoway when a raging inferno broke out at around 9.50pm on Wednesday. The driver, who was inside the van at the time, was forced to flee into the street.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows a man inside the vehicle with the driver's side door open. He can be seen leaning in his seat before an orange glow appears and the motor bursts into flames inside.
The man then flees the van from the driver's side door. Huge plumes of black smoke can be seen billowing up above nearby homes as explosions continue from inside the van.
Pictures of the inferno show parked motors just yards from the flames. Fire crews confirmed they sent one appliance to the scene and left around 11pm. It's not known yet if anyone was injured as a result of the blaze.
It is thought the fire may have started from the battery of the car.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a report of a Ford transit van on fire on Kingsdale Terrace in Kennoway at 9.50pm on Wednesday. We had one appliance in attendance, sent from Kirkcaldy. We left the scene shortly after 11pm.”
