It's been a tough few years for the hospitality sector in Scotland, with lockdowns and tight restrictions making it hard for many bars, clubs and pubs to carry on.
However, 2021 looks to be a turning point, after data from the business office market site Instant Offices found that the UK has seen a 21% increase in the number of new companies started in 2021 compared to 2020.
Analysing the population to startup ratio across the country’s top cities they set out discover which locations saw the highest concentration of entrepreneurs in the last 12 months.
The data revealed the top locations across the UK for entrepreneurs launching new hospitality ventures.
Both Glasgow and Edinburgh were named on the list, with Scotland's biggest city coming 4th for the whole of the UK, with 78 new pub and bar openings.
While the capital placed 10th with 37.
A spokesperson for the firm said: "Overall, entrepreneurship increased across the board in the UK during 2021, with company registrations surging in every city analysed.
"But what types of businesses are thriving in the UK and how many have been started in the past year? Well, it looks like pubs have been quite the hit.
"With restrictions easing and more people able to socialize 2021 seemed to be a great year for many people to open public houses or bars! See below for the top 10 cities with the most pubs opening in 2021!"
