Tributes have been paid to a "lovely couple" who died in a horror crash on a Scots road on Thursday.
John Drever, 39, and Vikki Drever, 34, passed away following the one vehicle accident on the B9068 in Sanday, Orkney Isles.
Devastated friends and locals have now taken to social media to express their sadness following the tragedy.
Many also took the opportunity to send their condolences to Mr and Mrs Drever's loved ones and offer comfort to those in the close-knit community of Sanday.
One person said: "Very sad news. I could not believe it when I was told.
"I knew them both well and my condolences to their families."
Another wrote: "A stark reminder that tomorrow is not guaranteed, I knew them both and it's hard to imagine folks my age are no longer with us due to an accident.
"Bloody tragic."
A third said: "You will both be missed by so many people. It was a pleasure to have known you both.
"Rest easy together".
A fourth commented: "Devastated to hear this. Will miss them greatly.
"Thoughts are with both family and friends".
A fifth added: "Really sad news, heartfelt thoughts with the families and the Sandy community".
The incident saw emergency services race to the scene of the smash, which took place between the hours of 9pm on Thursday, March 24 and the early hours of Friday morning.
Tragically John and his wife Vikki were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland officers have appealed for information as they continue their probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sergeant Angus Macleod, of Highland and Islands Road Policing, said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of Mr and Mrs Drever at this difficult time, and they have asked for their privacy to be respected following their loss.
