Smoke and flames have poured out of a manhole and into a Scots high street - forcing fire crews to close the road.
Emergency services descended on the High Street in the Fife town of Leslie at around 11.35pm on Sunday.
Fire and smoke were seen spewing from the pavement due to what is believed to be a fault with an electrical box underground.
Dramatic footage shared with the Record by local resident Rory Irvine shows firefighters turning traffic around and urging motorists to back up.
As they gesture at drivers, flames belch from the hole in the ground - as does thick black smoke.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines to the scene, with one having since stood down.
A spokesperson said: "We received a call at 11.36am to attend a fire on High Street in Leslie.
"We sent three appliances to the scene but one has since left.
"The fire appears to be in an underground electrical box and crews remain there at this time."
Buses were diverted away from the High Street as a result of the fire.
Operator Stagecoach East Scotland said in a tweet: "Due to a fire in [Leslie] all 39's will be diverting down cabbage hall missing out Allan Street and Anderson Street. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."
