EXCLUSIVE: Tika Sumpter has signed with Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment. The move reunites Sumpter with her former agent, DC Wade.
Most recently, Sumpter made her directorial debut with her short film, Night Off, written by Kiana Butler Jabangwe which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival for Hartbeat’s Women Write Now fellowship.
Up next, she will be seen in MGM’s sports comedy The Underdoggs from director Charles Stone III. The feature tells the story of Jaycen Jenning, “2J’s” (Snoop Dogg), a former NFL superstar who, after a run-in with the law, agrees to coach a youth football team in lieu of prison in the hopes of relaunching his fledgling career.
Additionally, Sumpter portrayed Maddie Wachowski in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a role she originated in the original film released in 2020. Prior to that, she was praised for bringing to life a young Michelle Obama in Miramax’s feature film Southside With You, which Sumpter co-produced with John Legend.
Her credits also include David Lowery’s The Old Man And The Gun and Nobody’s Fool in 2018, Ride Along 2 in 2016 and 2012’s Think Like A Man, to name a few.
In addition to Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, Sumpter will continue to be repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson Teller.

Sophia Scorziello editor Award-winning broadcast journalist Tamron Hall is the latest addition to the UTA and Range Media Partners rosters. Hall signed with UTA and Range ahead of Season 5 of her talk show “Tamron Hall Show,” where she serves as host and EP. “Tamron is a multifaceted talent and creator whose resume includes everything,” said Jay Sures, UTA vice-chair, in a statement.

Javon “Wanna” Walton has signed with Most Valuable Promotions, the boxing promotion company co-founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian. MVP will work with Walton on brand building, content creation and event marketing as he finishes his amateur career, with his professional debut set for 2024. His first appearance with MVP will take place on Aug. 2 in Dallas, where he will participate in the open workouts as part of the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz fight week. Along with his role in “Euphoria,” Walton is known for playing Stan in “The Umbrella Academy” on Netflix, with other credits including Amazon Prime Video’s “Utopia” and the upcoming Hulu series “Under the Bridge.” In a 2022 interview with Variety, he said that it was his boxing career that led him to acting — after an appearance on Steve Harvey’s talk show where he discussed boxing, he was scouted by legendary casting director Jennifer Venditti, who was then working on “Euphoria.”

Range Sports is the athletics-focused division established by startup management-production firm Range Media Partners. Rome, who has long forged his own path in sports media, aims to expand his production activity in radio, TV, podcasting and film. Rome has been a prominent voice in the sports for more than 25 years. He was part of the on-air launch team for ESPN2 in 1993. He built a loyal following for his blunt and pugnacious style of commentary and questioning as host of daily talk show “Jim Rome is Burning” on ESPN from 2003 to early 2012, and as host of the syndicated radio program “The Jim Rome Show” since 1996.
