Messages of condolences have been flooding after This Morning issued an emotional tribute following the death of one of its 'delightful' young stars. Viewers of the ITV daytime show may have come to recognise Matty Lock for his appearance on the programme thanks to his passion for vacuum cleaners.
The 19-year-old often presented segments with the show's hosts on the best gizmos and gadgets after testing them out for himself. Taking to Facebook and Instagram on Sunday (September 10), This Morning confirmed the news of Matty's tragic passing.
Sharing a picture of the teen laughing away during an appearance on the popular programme, a message read: "Everyone at This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matty Lock, aged just 19.

"He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious. His family came to the studio and they were so proud that he’d turned a childhood hobby into a career." They rounded off the message: "We will miss him and send our condolences to his family."
According to the Liverpool Echo, the politician, campaigner and television presenter died suddenly. Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner is amongst the hundreds of people to have shared their shock and sadness at the news that Matthew Lock - known as Matty - had died.
Matty was a popular member of the Labour Party in Sefton and Merseyside and was recently elected as a town councillor in Maghull. He was also a parish councillor in Lydiate.
