A man has appeared in court charged with culpable homicide following the death of a young Scots dad.
Rodney Shaw appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday, September 28, where he made no plea. The 50-year-old, from Montrose, was released on bail while the case was committed for further examination.
His next appearance in court is yet to be confirmed. Officers from Police Scotland were called to a disturbance at an industrial estate on Broomhill Road in Stonehaven on Tuesday, September 26.
Medics attended and a young father-of-four was found injured. The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital at around 10.40am but was pronounced dead a short time later.
He was later named by police as David McGuinness, from Inverurie.
Following his death, his family said in a statement, his family said: “David was a much loved son, partner, brother, uncle and doting father to his four young children. He will be sorely missed every day by all who knew him. The family are absolutely devastated by what has happened and would like privacy at this difficult time."
Detective Inspector James Callander said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of David at this difficult time. The family have asked for privacy while they come to terms with this loss."
