‘The Woman King’ Star Thuso Mbedu Reveals John Boyega’s ‘Amazing’ Idea for a Potential Sequel

Lead actress Viola Davis beamed with pride for her latest project as she posed on the red carpet alongside co-stars Lashana Lynch, John Boyega, Thuso Mbedu, Sheila Atim, and more. The Gina Prince-Bythewood-directed movie is set in the 1800s and tells the story of a group of all-female warriors who aim to protect the African kingdom of Dahomey with skills and fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Clayton Davis After two weeks of solid showings at the box office, excellent reviews and passionate fan responses, “The Woman King” has become one of the year’s standout hits, with plans to be competitive in the awards races for both major and artisan category attention.  One of the film’s standout stars, Thuso Mbedu, who plays the young Nawi, will be campaigning for supporting actress attention, Variety has learned. Academy Award winner Viola Davis (“Fences”) will be the sole actress campaigning for lead actress.  Mbedu, who was the breakout sensation of 2021’s Emmy-nominated series “The Underground Railroad” from director Barry Jenkins, will compete in supporting alongside her co-stars Sheila Atim, Jayme Lawson, Adrienne Warren and most prominent, Lashana Lynch. All of the male actors, including John Boyega, will be competing in supporting actor.

There's something funky going down, and only three people are capable of handling the investigation -- John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx. Netflix dropped the first teaser for its upcoming mystery film, featuring the threesome as an unlikely trio thrust onto the trail of a nefarious government experiment. Foxx introduced fans to the first look at the caper during Netflix's Tudum fan event on Saturday, and as expected, it was worth the wait!The footage begins with the three friends in an elevator, slowly descending to the basement floor.

Oscar-winning actor Jaime Foxx (“Miami Vice,” “Ray“) has been working on a regular basis with Netflix on action pics like “Project Power” and the recent vampire action-comedy “Day Shift.” Foxx will continue that genre run at the streaming giant with the science fiction comedy “They Cloned Tyrone” which co-stars familiar faces with John Boyega (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens“) and Teyonah Parris (“The Marvels,” “Wandavision“) taking main roles.

The 30-year-old staple appeared on Thursday's and was asked by fans who was cooler on the set of — Prince William or Prince Harry. «I definitely think it was Harry.
