The centre of Chorlton could be transformed as part of ambitious new plans for the south Manchester suburb.
Developer PJ Livesey Group is looking to transform Chorlton’s existing shopping centre site into a ‘thriving new neighbourhood at the heart of the community’.
Consultation on the future of the area along Wilbraham Road has now opened with residents being asked to share their views on what they would like to see.

The key proposals include up to 200 new homes, including affordable properties, modern retail spaces and a thriving retail hub, together with open spaces and places to meet.
P J Livesey managing director, Georgina Lynch, said: “Chorlton has its own unique character and energy and we want to understand local ambitions for the area and what we should be considering as we work on the masterplan.
“Building on the site’s potential, we want to create a neighbourhood that responds to how people live, work, shop and spend time today with energy-efficient new homes, new shops and outdoor spaces where people can spend time.
“We want to engage as widely as possible with all sections of the community and look forward to the first conversations about One Chorlton with further consultation, including in-person events, planned for later this year as plans for the site evolve.”
The 3.2-acre site, owned by Greater Manchester Pension Fund, is currently home to the shopping precinct, Graeme House office block and a ground-level car park.
Questionnaires will be going to local neighbours and a website has been launched giving people the opportunity to comment. This feedback will help inform detailed designs for the site which
