John Hartson has told Brendan Rodgers he shouldn't have made his "good girl" comment to Jane Lewis in the first place, and pointed out that he didn't hear an apology from him.
The Celtic boss said that he was "saddened" by the reaction to his controversial interview sign off after beating Motherwell. BBC journalist Lewis has insisted she didn't think Rodgers meant any offence and that none was taken. Rodgers blamed an over sensitive society for the backlash he has faced since and wanted to make it clear he wasn't that sort of person, before referencing a documentary on Jessica Watson, a 16-year-old who completed a round-the-world sailing trip, which he found "inspirational."
But Hartson was less than impressed with Rodgers' response. The former Parkhead striker reckons Rodgers was wrong in the first place and that despite saying he had spoken to Lewis since, made no mention of an apology to her for the language he used.

"There was no apology there, from Brendan that I listened to. No apology and I believe, although he said he spoke to Jame Lewis, I think she would have probably wanted an apology.
"That's not the language you expect from a top manager to say to a lady reporter, in my eyes. I didn't hear an apology on the air. I know he says he's spoken to her but nobody knows what he said.
"In my eyes, he shouldn't have said that in the first place. That's only my opinion."
