‘The Beatles: Get Back’ Director Peter Jackson Bests Judd Apatow, Amy Poehler For Emmy Directing Win

Tolkien in the appendices of “The Lord of the Rings.” Like so many of her castmates of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” Cynthia Addai-Robinson didn’t know exactly who she was playing until she arrived in New Zealand to shoot the Amazon Prime Video series. Unlike several of her castmates, however, Addai-Robinson was not an obsessive fan of the expansive world of Middle-earth created by author J.R.R. Tolkien. But once she was cast as Míriel, the Queen Regent of the resplendently prosperous island nation of Númenor, the veteran actor (“Power,” “Shooter,” “Arrow,” “Spartacus”) dove in head first into the rich history of Númenor and Middle-earth.

Amy Poehler has arrived! Carson Burton The Television Academy and NBC on Wednesday announced the first group of presenters for Monday night’s Emmys ceremony. The lineup includes Selena Gomez, “Hacks” stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, “Squid Game” stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon, Amy Poehler, Diego Luna and more. The ceremony, which aims to celebrate television’s biggest names and shows, will be hosted by “SNL” star Kenan Thompson. The newly announced lineup of presenters for the evening includes four stars nominated for their acting performances: Smart and Einbinder for “Hacks” as well as Lee and Jung for “Squid Game.” Gomez, who notably did not get a nomination for her performance in “Only Murders in the Building,” will still see a chance at holding an Emmy statuette thanks to the show’s 17 awards nods, including for outstanding comedy series.

The Television Academy has opened the envelope on its first batch of presenters for Monday’s 74th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Will Arnett and Amy Poehler's sons inherited their sense of humor, according to the 52-year-old actor. Arnett stopped by on Tuesday night and dished on how hilarious the former couple's 13-year-old, Archie, and 12-year-old, Abel, are.“I have really funny kids,” Arnett told Kimmel, who agreed, calling the boys “extraordinarily funny.”Reflecting on his kid’s humor, Arnett recalled a story from when Abel was only seven and he joked with one of the podcast host's friends, and told them, “You just got burned by a seven-year-old who is still learning how to tie his shoes!”“I was like, ‘Wow, that’s so layered, he used his own inability to tie his shoes as a burn on the other person.”Arnett went on to share a more recent story, where Abel had a hilarious response to his brother’s criticism. “Archie said, ‘God, Abel just spews all this nonsense and he just says all this stuff that’s a completely conversation killer,'” to which Abel replied, “You know who is a conversation killer? John Wayne Gacy.”Arnett and Poehler were married from 2003 to 2016, but announced their split in 2012.

Adele has shared her reaction after winning a Creative Arts Emmy Award over the weekend for her recent One Night Only show.The US TV concert special aired last November, and saw the star perform tracks from her album ’30’ at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles while also being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.It won five awards, including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), meaning Adele is now one step closer to EGOT status – more specifically a small handful of people who have won the four major Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards.
