Nabil Adil, Oliver Rothwell, and April Farnworth raced their Audis from Castlefield to Wharfside Way in Trafford, waving out their drivers side window as they overtook each other, on May 30, 2020. The trio were stopped by police, and were described as being 'apologetic,' saying 'pride and arrogance' had 'taken over'.
At a hearing at Manchester Crown Court on Friday (February 9th), all three were handed community orders and banned from driving for 12 months after what Judge Johnston called an 'egregious example of dangerous driving'. However, she said all three were 'young people trying to make their way in the world,' and was 'satisfied' community orders were a suitable punishment.

On May 30, 2020, the trio met in the Castlefield area before racing each other onto Chester Road to Bridgewater Way. The court heard how dashcam footage from Farnworth's own Audi A4, captured Adil, 27, brazenly waving to her as he overtook in his Audi RS4 while reaching 'excessive' speeds.
Prosecuting, Miss Claire Brocklebank said the group did stop at each junction but then 'sped' off again before they were eventually stopped by police on Wharfside Way. She described them as being 'apologetic' at the scene and of previous good character.
