A popular fish and chip shop in Altrincham as received a outpouring of support after announcing its closure after 12 years in business.
Kingfisher Fish & Chips, which is situated between Altrincham Market and the train station, closed its doors for good last week, breaking the news with its customers of social media. The cafe, which prided itself as having some of the "finest" fresh fish and chips in the town, thanked its valued customers for the "laughs and the smiles", as well support over the last 12 years.
The Trafford chippy shared an image of a sign they placed in the window of the shop on Facebook, which read: "To all our valued customers it is with dad regret we have had to close due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for all your support over the last 12 Years."

It was accompanied by a caption paying tribute to customers old and new. It read: "We would like to thank all of our customers old and new for their loyal custom, for the laughs and the smiles. We deeply regret, we have now closed.
"Such a sad week, but here is too new a positive horizons. We wish you all the best."
The news was met by an outpouring of sympathy from customers on its own post and one shared on local Facebook Page, Altrincham HQ, which said owners "should be extremely proud to have a business that was always busy for 12 years."
Many customers and locals flooded the comments with well wishes, while some expressed confusion over how a popular and busy chip shop be closing its doors.
