Woodhead Pass closed after lorry overturns in crash involving white van

The Woodhead Pass has been closed after a lorry overturned following a crash.
Police were called to the incident on the A628 - a major cross-Pennine route between Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire - shortly after 10.30am today (Monday).
The lorry careered off the road before rolled onto its side heading towards Manchester. A white van was also involved in the collision, officers have said.

No one has been injured in the incident. An image shared on Twitter showed the lorry on its side next to the busy road.
An eyewitness reported that there were 'gale force winds' around the time of the crash. Several hours after the incident, the Woodhead Pass was closed in both directions between the A616 at Flouch and the A57 at Hollingworth 'due to strong winds'.
A National Highways spokesperson said: "A number of vehicles have overturned along the route and will be closed throughout the evening to recover the vehicles.
"Road users are advised to use the M60 or M62 (or if travelling from the south of England consider using the M1) as an alternative route. Road users are also advised to allow extra time for their journey. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We were called to an incident on the A628 Woodhead Pass just after 10.30am on Monday 13 March. An HGV had left the road and rolled onto its side heading towards Manchester. A white van was also involved in the collision.
