Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood calls former contestant a ‘minger’ in front of shocked audience

Strictly Come Dancing star Craig Revel Horwood allegedly said that one contestant was a “minger” while giving feedback on the show's current live UK tour. While the 2023 series of the BBC show may be over, many of the stars of the show have been busy touring where they have been bringing the magic of the show to venues up and down the country.
As part of the live tour, each of the couples perform a series of dances in front of the judges and audience, before those in the crowd get to decide who should take home the Glitterball Trophy at the end of each show. According to The Sun, an eyewitness claimed that judge Craig, 59, “was mean” when discussing one contestant’s performance at the O2 Arena on Saturday 10 February.
The publication alleges that the remark was aimed at Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who appeared on the 2023 series where he was the seventh contestant to be eliminated. An eyewitness told the publication: “I was at the strictly live tour last night and Craig was giving feedback to one of the contestants.
“He was mean and everyone booed and he said 'whatever' with the 'W' with his fingers. He then flipped it around to make an 'M' and said 'minger'.” The eyewitness added that the host of the show “awkwardly laughed” before moving on.
However, a source close to Craig told The Sun that it was a “joke”.
They said: “Have you ever seen the Strictly tour? It’s a JOKE.” A representative for Craig told OK!: “Anyone who was actually at the show would know that it was all said tongue in cheek in a light hearted manner, as is the general tone of the entire show.” The allegation comes after Craig, who first joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2004, hit back at an online troll who branded him “horrid and obnoxious”.
