Eagle eyed fans have noticed that one professional dancer in particular has been absent from recent Strictly Come Dancing episodes- and they're now speculating she could quit the show. Michelle Tsiakkas, who joined in 2022, has never been partnered with a celebrity contestant and has hardly been seen on the BBC competition's latest series.
The Cyprus-native joined the pro line-up along with Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley and Vito Coppola last year, but now in a Reddit thread titled, "Any professionals to leave after this season?", fans said they thought the 28-year-old could walk away entirely.
One wrote, "Maybe Michelle. She’s in the group dances but I’ve noticed that she’s been absent in the Clauditorium." Another agreed, "Michelle, I’ve not seen her in Clauditorium at all i don’t think, the pro dances are all pre-recorded." Michelle, who was the undefeated dance champion Cyprus between 2001-2011, isn't the only professional dancers on Strictly's roster that wasn't coupled up this year, as Nadiya Bychkova also wasn't given a partner.
However, this could really shake things up for the hit ITV show, as a contestant has already decided to quit the show this year. It was confirmed that Amanda Abbington, who was partnered with Giovanni Pernice, decided to hang up her dancing shoes in the middle of the series and a spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing stated: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
"The show wishes her all the best for the future." The 51-year-old actress then broke her silence on the matter with an emotional Instagram post and wrote: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly
