Stacey Solomon inspired my £15 IKEA buy and I should have done it years ago

Where my kids are concerned I like to keep things. Paintings they did at nursery, first locks of hair, baby teeth, you name it and I'll have it somewhere.
But that's the problem, 'somewhere' - I'd put things in all sorts of places over the years that I struggle to find anything.
Not that I get a regular urge to go and look at my not so little ones' peggies, but I was sick of having things tucked away with no real organisation.
That's why I decided to copy one of BBC Sort Your Life Out host Stacey Solomon's ideas and put together a memory box.

It's something she's done for all her children, just to keep things in like those baby scans and first tiny baby grows.
I found the perfect item at IKEA that not only looks stylish, but is the perfect size.
Obviously you can pick up any old box for free, or spend a few quid on a flimsy cube, but for something like this, you need it to stand the test of time and if it's something's staying above your wardrobe for years, then you want it to look nice too.
The KVARNVIK storage box with lid not only looks stylish, with its woven design, but is a really sturdy option - and it comes with a handy little space on the front to put the child's name too.
Available in both beige and grey, they come in three different sizes, but I went for the biggest square-shaped one, at £15, to make sure I'd have enough space for the things I've saved over the years and will no doubt be adding to.
