Spike Lee's 2020 Oscars Tuxedo Is a Poignant Purple and Gold Tribute to Kobe Bryant

For many middle and high schoolers, “To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee has been a cornerstone of their literary education. And now, the hit stage version made the move from the Broadway stage to Madison Square Garden, playing to a packed auditorium of New York students on Wednesday.

There is no handbook that gives directions about the process of mourning a loved one, and it looks differently for everyone. So while some of Kobe Bryant’s friends and family shed tears about the loss of his life, others remembered the good times, including Shaq.

During Monday's public memorial at the Staples Center, Vanessa earned a standing ovation as she stepped up to the podium to deliver a beautiful and emotional speech honoring her late husband and 13-year-old daughter.  "First I'd like to thank everyone for coming today," she began her moving eulogy.

The watch, known among Rolex collectors as the "Root Beer" model due its distinctive coloring, features an Oyster bracelet and 24-hour rotatable bezel.

Filmmaker and basketball superfan Spike Lee paid tribute to Kobe Bryant on the 2020 Oscars red carpet by wearing a purple suit emblazoned with the late sports icon’s jersey number.

Laura Dern reduced her mother Diane Ladd to tears on Sunday when she dedicated her first Academy Awards win to her parents and praised them as her “acting heroes”.

Director Spike Lee is no stranger to making a statement with his fashion choices, and for this year’s Oscars, he has used style to pay tribute to the late basketball player Kobe Bryant.
