EXCLUSIVE: Imperative Entertainment and Vespucci are doubling down on their podcast partnership.
The two companies have signed a slate deal that includes three series – Operation Morning Light, The Paddlefish Caviar Heist and The Cost of Happiness.
It comes after they previously partnered on true-crime audio series Bonaparte, which launched last year.
Operation Morning Light tells the story of how on a January night in 1978, a white light burned through the sub-Arctic sky. Cosmos 954, a nuclear-powered Soviet espionage satellite that had malfunctioned and fallen to earth. As the satellite disintegrated, it scattered dangerously radioactive debris across the vast traditional lands of the Dene, Métis, and Inuit in the Northwest Territories of Canada. Operation Morning Light explores the disaster, its impact on the land, and the resilience of the communities in the debris field.
The series is hosted by Dëneze Nakehk’o, a Denesuline and Dehcho Dene father from Denendeh.
The Paddlefish Caviar Heist is set in Warsaw, Missouri, a small, rural town of just over 2,000 people in the American Midwest. Locally, it’s known for its retro Sonic Drive-In burger joint. Very few realize that it’s the paddlefish capital of the world. But when a new group arrived driving flashy, imported cars and dropping hundreds of dollars on bait and tackle, the town became the setting for an undercover FBI operation tasked with bringing down a suspected international caviar poaching ring.
The series is hosted by Thrillist Editor-in-Chief Helen Hollyman, who is a former cook and truffle dealer.
Finally, The Cost of Happiness tells the story of billionaire Zappos founder and tech CEO Tony Hsieh, who was obsessed with happiness and helping people achieve it.

EJ Panaligan editor Mikhail Gorbachev, the Russian politician who served as the eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union, has died at the age of 91, according to the Associated Press. The Central Clinical Hospital in Russia provided a statement to Russian news organizations that Gorbachev died after suffering from an undisclosed, long-term illness. Gorbachev served as the leader of the Soviet Union during its demise in 1991. He resigned on Christmas of that year after spending the last few months in office watching different republics declare independence. His initiatives and reforms led to the end of the Cold War but resulted in the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Taylor Swift is being sued by a poet and author named Teresa La Dart who claims a book Swift released alongside her 2019 album ‘Lover’ copied elements of La Dart’s book of the same name.In a complaint filed in Tennessee federal court on August 23, La Dart claims that “a number of creative elements” from her book – a collection of “poems, anecdotes and photos” self-published in 2010 – were copied in Swift’s book that accompanies a deluxe version of her ‘Lover’ album.As the Daily Mail reports, in the filing, La Dart alleges Swift copied both “the vibe and design” of her own book, as well as its “format” of “a recollection of past years memorialized in a combination of written and pictorial components”.In her allegations, La Dart specifically references the similarities of both books sharing a title, having covers that use “pastel pinks and blues”, images of their author “photographed in a downward pose” and the designs comprising of “interspersed photographs and writings”.La Dart is reportedly seeking in “excess of one million dollars” in damages.NME has reached out to representatives for Swift for comment.
