There’s been a noticeable increase in people seeking out facial fillers recently, and despite plenty of celebs sharing they’ve decided to dissolve theirs, it doesn’t seem to perturb others who are keen to give their face a couple of ‘tweakments’. However, before you rush off to book your filler appointment you might want to check out TikTok’s latest beauty trend, which claims a simple £5 face sculpting tool can give you the same effect as fillers for a whole lot less money (and pain).
TikToker @lebaneseangel22, also known as simply ‘MW’, recently shared a video that currently has more than 817k views, in which she says: "You don't need face filler, you just need to Gua Sha," before showing a tutorial on how to use the tool to sculpt your face. In her video, she uses a gua sha similar to this budget-friendly Premium Stainless Steel Gua Sha Stone, £5.49 here, for her facial sculpting routine, revealing that she does the process every morning.
To start with, MW does a series of massage techniques using her hands to open up her lymph nodes under her arms and around her nose, ears, collarbones and eyebrows. She then uses an oil-based skincare product on her skin and begins by using the Gua Sha, with the longer end at the bottom, along her jawline, dragging it up towards her ears and then down her neck.
After her jawline, she demonstrates a series of other sweeping motions for different areas of her face, including below and above her cheekbones, the upper eye area, and the sides of her nose, all of which supposedly help sculpt and define your facial structure without the need for filler. She’s posted several more videos about the method, saying: “I’ve said this before.
