A senior GMP officer accused of sexual harassment is to face a disciplinary hearing, the Manchester Evening News can reveal.
It means the high-ranking cop - who has not yet been publicly identified - is expected to be named when the hearing formally starts. He was suspended in July of last year amid an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
The watchdog has announced it has now completed its investigation into allegations of his behaviour on a training course. He is faces 'multiple' alleged breaches police standards, according to the watchdog.

He is among many GMP officers accused of sexual misconduct - last year we reported almost 100 were being investigated for sexual misconduct allegations.
An IOPC spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: “We completed our independent investigation into reports of sexual harassment and a non-recent assault by a senior Greater Manchester Police officer in October 2023.
“At the end of our investigation, which followed two conduct referrals from the force in October 2022, we found the officer has a case to answer for gross misconduct. This relates to multiple alleged breaches of the police standards of professional behaviour, including authority, respect and courtesy; and discreditable conduct.
“We now await proceedings, which will be arranged by GMP, where the evidence will be considered by a disciplinary panel.”
A GMP Spokesperson said: “We have received the findings of the IOPC investigation into a senior GMP officer and agree there is a case to answer for gross misconduct. We are now preparing misconduct proceedings ahead of a hearing in due course.”
