A murder accused has appeared in court following his arrest at Manchester Airport. John Belfield is accused of the murder of Thomas Campbell, who died following an incident in Tameside in July 2022.
He has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to supply class A drugs. Mr Belfield, 29, appeared before Manchester magistrates court at a brief hearing this morning.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before a judge at Manchester Crown Court later this week. Greater Manchester Police said he was arrested at Manchester Airport after arriving from South America.

Three people have already been sentenced for their role in Thomas Campbell’s death.
The 38-year-old was discovered dead in his own home in Mossley, Tameside, at about 10.30am on Sunday July 3, 2022.
GMP said over the weekend: “John Belfield (13/04/1994) of no fixed abode has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
"He has been remanded into custody and will appear before a Magistrate at a later date."
