A young thug who repeatedly booted a man on the head when he was lying unconscious on the ground has been sentenced to a year's detention. Jak Biggam, 21, broke David Walker's cheekbone in the violent attack in a shopping centre car park, a court heard.
Livingston Sheriff Court was shown shocking video footage of Biggam's and his co-accused Jakub Blawicki's terrifying assault on David and a woman who tried to defend him. Biggam punched David to the ground during a struggle before brutally kicking him to the head and body.
He returned to attack the unconscious man again and again as he lay on the ground, determined to continue his vicious assault despite the best efforts of his victim's friends to stop him. He appeared for sentence at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday after earlier pleading guilty on indictment to carrying out the attack outside Livingston Centre in West Lothian on May 14, 2022.
He admitted repeatedly punching David to the head, knocking him to the ground causing him to lose consciousness and repeatedly kicking him on the head to his severe injury, impairment and to the danger of his life.

Blawicki also admitted assaulting Joel Nyguyst, by punching her on the head as she tried to defend her friend from being attacked by them again.
Christine Brownlie, prosecuting said the two accused and David had been drinking in separate groups in the Paraffin Lamp pub before the confrontation outside shortly before 10pm.
