Scots influencer Jamie Genevieve quadruples value of her firms in just one year

Influencer Jamie Genevieve has more than quadrupled the value of her companies to £6.5million in the past year.
The 30-year-old, who began working on a beauty counter at Debenhams in Glasgow, has built up a huge online following by sharing step-by-step make-up tutorials on Instagram and YouTube.
In 2020 Jamie – whose real name is Jamie Grant – launched her own make-up range, Vieve, and sold a minority stake in the business for £5.5million in November last year.

The beauty mogul, who became a mum to daughter Romy in May, has more than 1.4million followers on social media and last year earned a spot on Forbes magazine’s 30 under 30 list.
Latest accounts for Jamie Genevieve Limited, which channels income from her work as a social media influencer, show she has assets of more than £920,000. It owes creditors almost £175,000 within a year, leaving Jamie with shareholder funds of £744,565.
Last year the firm’s shareholder funds were £305,797. And new accounts for her make-up company Vieve Ltd have shown, thanks to the sale of the minority stake, that reserves in that firm have soared from £1.2million last year to £5.7million this year.
That means the total value of both companies has risen from £1.5million to £6.5million over the past 12 months.
Speaking previously about her success, she said: “I technically have more followers than the population of Glasgow. Whenever I’m out of the house, I’m guaranteed to bump into a few people who know who we are and what we do.
“I never started doing this for wanting millions of followers – not that I don’t want them. But I’m
