Scotland's Cocktail Bar of The Year was recently crowned and customers have called it "exceptional" and "extraordinary".
The winners of the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards were revealed last week, and a "semi-hidden gem" in Edinburgh took home the top prize for cocktail bars. Hey Palu in the heart of the capital's Old Town won the coveted award, besting cocktail bars in destinations such as Glasgow and Ayr.
Located on Bread Street, Hey Palu is an "intimate modern Italian bar serving grown-up drinks accompanied by a killer playlist" according to its website. All of its drinks are inspired by the aperitivo style of drinking, which refers to those normally served before a meal.
The cocktail bar triumphed over fellow nominees Panda and Sons, T-Bar, and The Absent Ear, located in Edinburgh, Ayr, and Glasgow respectively to claim the title.
Taking to Facebook to share the news, the team at Hey Palu wrote: "So this happened last night. We won Cocktail Bar of the Year at the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards with @dramscotland."
Hey Palu is also a hit amongst customers, receiving an average rating of five out of five based on 67 reviews on travel website Tripadvisor.
One visitor wrote: "Extraordinary! Excellent drinks, great vibes and a real laugh.
"Customer service was exceptional the bartenders were very knowledgable, great fun to chat to and were experts at developing rapport - also loved The Godfather and the little music box with The Godfather theme… so funny and gave both myself and girlfriend a real chuckle! The tunes in the background were on point as well, proper jazzy and funky - what an absolute vibe."
A second echoed: "This semi-hidden gem in Edinburgh is definitely worth seeking out if you are a craft cocktail connoisseur - especially
