Ruth Langsford had previously made some cheeky bedroom comments about Eamonn Holmes before the news of their alleged split hit the headlines. It has been reported that the couple, who have been married for 14 years and share a son, Jack, 22, are heading for divorce, according to a statement from their representative.
In happier times, Ruth, 64, had candidly discussed her private life with Eamonn, 64, on Loose Women, leaving viewers gobsmacked. During an earlier episode of the ITV daytime show, when panellists Frankie Bridge, Carol McGiffin, and Kelle Bryan all agreed that a sex ban wouldn't work in their relationships, Ruth confessed there's one thing Eamonn could do to guarantee some action, reports the Express.
She revealed: "You can have all the compliments and the flowers but then, if Eamonn comes home and has used my car and he goes, 'Filled the petrol up and did your water bottle,' I'm like, 'Get upstairs right now'". The studio audience erupted into laughter as Ruth continued: "I hate doing it.
Literally, I'll go round with my petrol light on red, the water bottle empty, smeared [windscreen], I'm like, 'Oh I can't stop and do that,' so he'll do it for me and he knows, he knows." With a mischievous grin, she added: "Everyone's got their little trick." Sadly, it seems that the couple may have called time on their long-standing relationship following months of rumours surrounding their love life. After spending months out of the public eye, whispers began to swirl that Ruth and Eamonn had quietly called it quits.
