Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have a dedicated fan base that was left heartbroken when they announced their separation over the weekend. The popular TV presenters were once firm favourites of This Morning viewers thanks to their sweet comments to each other, as well as cheeky banter.
The news broke this past weekend that Ruth and Eamonn, both 64, have ended their relationship. A joint statement released on Saturday confirmed: "[They] have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
The pair, who were together for more than 20 years, are recognised for their previous work together on ITV's This Morning. Over the years, Ruth has shared insights into their married life.
The Loose Women host has also mentioned relationships she had before her romance with Eamonn, who is now employed by GB News. In light of the recent news, the Mirror revisited some of her remarks.
While Ruth hasn't specifically discussed any ex-partners, she has referred to past relationships throughout the years. Speaking about her life before Eamonn, she told the Daily Mail in 2017 that certain things in her life happened "late".
She explained: "In my early 30s I heard someone describing me as 'a career girl,' which was their explanation for why I was single."
Ruth clarified that this "wasn't the case," adding: "I wanted to be a mother but I didn't want to settle for someone I almost loved."
The presenter revealed her personal timing in life, saying: "I would have liked to have had more children but everything in life is about timing and my timing has always been later rather than sooner."
During a 2018 segment on This Morning, Ruth discussed past relationships and the idea of remaining friends with an ex. Eamonn quipped: "You
