Loose Women star Ruth Langsford had to apologise live on air after producers made a blunder on today’s episode (October 9). The TV presenter was joined by Brenda Edwards, Coleen Nolan, and guest panellist and Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor for the latest instalment of the ITV daytime show. Main presenter Ruth introduced the show and, as usual, teased viewers with the topics they had coming up on the programme.
However, she was left red-faced as she had to quickly cover up for a mistake made behind the scenes. As she announced that they would be having Paris Fury on the show as their special guest, a clip of Big Brother's launch episode was played out instead, with Paris's name along the bottom. Ruth then tried to continue reading from the autocue before bursting out laughing at the awkward blunder.
Giggling awkwardly, she apologised to viewers, saying: “Sorry, I’ve realised that's completely the wrong clip, we're going to be talking about Big Brother last night." The live audience couldn't help but laugh at the mistake as Ruth joked: "But anyway, these things happen; it's Monday morning. It's been the weekend.” She added: "Now we're going to talk about Big Brother if we can find the right clip." Last night, Big Brother returned to ITV for the highly-anticipated reboot, but one change to the format left some viewers disappointed. Unlike previous series of the show, first on Channel 4 and then Channel 5, the ITV version of the show had a pre-recorded launch.
