Robert De Niro, Al Pacino & Francis Ford Coppola Reunite for 50th Anniversary of 'The Godfather' at Oscars 2022

Legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola is putting together a high-concept drama, “Megalopolis,” and has been courting all sorts of actors such as James Caan, Oscar Isaac, Forest Whitaker, Cate Blanchett, Jon Voight, Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jessica Lange. After Isaac reportedly passed on the project, Coppola has been seeking a new lead actor and there is something of an update from an unlikely source.

The 2022 Oscars took a moment during Sunday night’s broadcast to pay tribute to "The Godfather" film series.  Director Francis Ford Coppola, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro took the stage at the 94th Annual Academy Awards to celebrate the iconic crime-drama’s 50th anniversary.  After Sean "Diddy" Combs introduced the three stars, Coppola, 82, Pacino, 81, and DeNiro, 79, all joined together on stage to thank the "legends" that brought the film together years ago. Reuniting stars from classic movies has been an Oscar tradition, creating memorable moments like Bonnie and Clyde‘s Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announcing the wrong Best Picture winner at the 2018 ceremony.
