Legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola is putting together a high-concept drama, “Megalopolis,” and has been courting all sorts of actors such as James Caan, Oscar Isaac, Forest Whitaker, Cate Blanchett, Jon Voight, Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jessica Lange. After Isaac reportedly passed on the project, Coppola has been seeking a new lead actor and there is something of an update from an unlikely source.

Paramount Plus has released the official trailer for “The Offer,” the upcoming drama miniseries that chronicles the making of “The Godfather.”Set in the early 1970s, “The Offer” stars Miles Teller as Albert S. Ruddy, who is hired as the producer for the film adaptation of the best-selling novel “The Godfather,” written by Mario Puzo (played by Patrick Gallo). While the series faces typical behind the scenes tension between its director Francis Ford Coppola (Dan Fogler) and producing team, the filming grows more complicated when mob boss Joe Colombo (Giovanni Ribisi) signs on to help assist in the production.

I was so pissed off, I couldn’t watch the rest of the film.”He adds with a laugh, “But otherwise, he gave me a great honor.”Caan also addressed a rumour claiming he disliked Gianni Russo, who played Carlo Rizzi, and that they had got into a fight.“He had a fight with someone else. Not me,” Caan said.

Cage is playing himself in Lionsgate‘s meta-movie “The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent” and most recently was cast as Universal‘s newest incarnation of Count Dracula in the horror-comedy “Renfield” starring opposite Nicholas Hoult, which could mean he might continue that role in other Universal Monsters projects.
