Oscars 2022: 'Encanto' Cast to Perform 'We Don’t Talk About Bruno'

Will Smith’s slap heard ’round the world pulled focus, the 2022 Oscars were also being slammed online after some viewers accused the production team of “weird” and “embarrassing” music choices throughout the show. British actor Daniel Kaluuya and American singer H.E.R., who both won big at last year’s Academy Awards, appeared onstage together early in the night to present the award for Best Supporting Actress.

While ABC looks to cut live technical award speeches from the hard-working department heads, they don’t seem to be terribly concerned about the time spent on the multiple Best Song performances, which can be something many people still look forward to. Others might see that time spent could be reclaimed for the ceremony as producers keep looking for ways to shorten the runtime.
