It marked Fernandes' first goal for United since against Brentford back in May at Old Trafford.
The midfielder — who scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season — failed to impact the game in Ten Hag's side's opening two matches of the season against Brighton and Brentford. However, United legend Ferdinand thinks that Fernandes is playing with more 'responsibility' after being given the armband.
Speaking about the Portuguese playmaker on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand claimed that Fernandes is a player who 'wants the spotlight' and that his performances are better when he plays on the edge.
