Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver has rocketed to the top of Netflix’s charts but has landed fewer viewers than its opening saga.

Robert Durst has been a part of director Andrew Jarecki’s life for years.In 2005, the director began working on the 2010 film “All Good Things,” starring Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst, and was inspired by the life of Durst and the disappearance of his first wife, Kathleen McCormack.He then followed that up with the 2015 six-part HBO docuseries “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst,” which explored Durst’s connection to several murders and dramatically concluded with his hot mike admission, “Killed them all, of course.”The series garnered a host of awards and the storyline appeared to be over. However, in 2020, Durst stood trial for the 2000 murder of his good friend, Susan Berman, 55.Critics who had refused to talk to Jarecki for the first “Jinx” series were now testifying in the Berman trial — and he realized that there was another series in the making.“The Jinx: Part Two” debuted on Sunday.Durst was the eldest son of New York City real estate magnate Seymour Durst and first gained headlines for the unsolved 1982 disappearance of McCormack.Berman, one of Durst’s oldest friends who provided an alibi for him when McCormack went missing, was shot outside her home in 2000.Later that year, after being tipped off by his sister that the McCormack investigation had been reopened, Durst went into hiding and moved to Galveston, Texas, where he disguised himself as a mute woman.The following year, Durst was arrested after body parts belonging to his elderly neighbor, Morris Black, 71, were found floating in Galveston Bay.Durst skipped bail but was extradited.

Zack Snyder’s new Netflix film is out and it is receiving the worst reviews of the director’s career to date.Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver hit the streaming platform last Friday (April 19), the sequel to its 2023 predecessor.It stars Sofia Boutella as a former soldier who recruits warriors from neighbouring planets to fight back against the evil Imperium when her farming colony is threatened.On the reviews aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, the film is currently sitting on a 17 per cent rating, surpassing his previous low, which was the first Rebel Moon film at 21 per cent.Some of Snyder’s previous films, including his DC Extended Universe entries Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the original cut of Justice League, are all certified rotten on the site, at 56, 29 and 40 per cent respectively.His highest-rated directorial project to date is his 2004 debut Dawn of the Dead at 76 per cent, followed by his 2021 extended cut of Justice League at 72 per cent.In a one-star review, The Times said, “You’d sell your granny for a sci-fi brain gizmo that could wipe the entire mess from your mind for ever”.The Telegraph, meanwhile, declared that, “We’re given hundreds of details about this galaxy far far away, but no reasons to care about any of them.”Snyder himself has hit back at the negative reviews for the film, saying he’s perplexed by the hostile reaction.“I don’t really have a rebuttal to the reviews. For whatever reason, the reaction to my movies is very polarising, and it always has been.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Patrick Warburton has voiced Joe Swanson on “Family Guy” since the show’s first season 25 years ago, but the role has never exactly gotten his family’s seal of approval. During a recent PaleyFest LA event celebrating “Family Guy’s” 25th anniversary (via People magazine), Warburton revealed that his parents hate the Seth MacFarlane-created animated comedy and their disdain for the show went so far that Warburton’s mom once tried to get “Family Guy” canceled. “They hate the show even more today than they did 25 years ago,” Warburton said.

This week’s release of Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver” (read our review) puts many of Netflix’s problems into sharp focus. Reportedly costing around $166 million to make for both films, arguably much less expensive than some big Marvel and “Star Wars” that cost around $200 million each, it’s still a significant figure for movies that have been met with massive critical derision.
