Dash Mihok (“Ray Donovan,” “Romeo + Juliet”), Britne Oldford (“Dead Ringers,” “The Umbrella Academy”), Matthew Del Negro (“The Sopranos,” “City on a Hill”), Harriet Sansom Harris (“Licorice Pizza,” “Phantom Thread”), Patch Darragh (“Succession,” “The Path”), and Perry Mattfeld (“In the Dark,” “Shameless”) have all joined the series. Joe Wright, director behind the Golden Globe and multi-BAFTA winning films Pride and Prejudice, The Darkest Hour and Atonement, is set to direct and executive produce The Department, based on the acclaimed French espionage political thriller The Bureau, from George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Wright replaces Clooney, who initially was slated to direct the series.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Director Joe Wright and writers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth have all boarded the upcoming Paramount+ series “The Department.” The Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios series, which was announced with a straight-to-series order in February 2023, is based on the French drama series “Le Bureau des Legendes” created by Eric Rochant. Wright will direct the first two episodes and executive produce, while the Butterworths will writer and executive produce all episodes.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “The Terminal List” prequel series at Amazon Prime Video has cast Dar Salim in a key recurring guest star role, Variety has learned. Salim has joined “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf” in the role of Mohammed “Mo” Farooq. He joins previously announced series lead Taylor Kitsch as well as cast members Chris Pratt, Jared Shaw, Tom Hopper, and Luke Hemsworth.

Actor Ray Winstone has two Netflix projects on the way: Guy Ritchie’s crime comedy series, “The Gentlemen” (read our review), and “Damsel” opposite Millie Bobbie Brown. But of course, as is custom these days, the actor was asked about his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ray Winstone appeared in Marvel’s Black Widow, which came out in 2021 and which starred Scarlett Johansson as the titular character.
