Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has shared an update after she was unexpectedly pulled off the show Britain Tuesday, March 29. The daytime TV host's absence sparked fear with viewers, as she was taken from the studio minutes after co-host Richard Madeley worried she wouldn't "get through" her segment.The 44 year old journalist's eyes had become extremely swollen and puffy and she had red-rimmed eyes, a far cry from her usually polished and healthy-looking appearance. The star explained she had severe hay fever, and upon advice from Dr Hilary Jones on the show, she took out her contact lenses and wore her glasses instead, also going makeup free to see if it would ease up.
Ranvir had assumed she simply had a pollen reaction flare-up, but after a day of rest she has now revealed it was something more serious. Sharing an update on her Twitter page today, Ranvir explained she had had an "allergic reaction".
"Thanks for all the guidance on my streaming sore eyes this week!" the star thanked her fans. "It was an allergic reaction to something more than tree pollen as the skin around my eyes has gone paper thin and sore :( "Anyway I’ll be hosting @lorraine tomorrow and for all of next week - sorry for my face!" Ranvir added. Midway through GMB on Tuesday, Ranvir's sore eyes led to an emergency switch that saw reporter Louisa James replacing her for the rest of the programme.
Louisa read the latest news reports to viewers, as a concerned Susanna Reid asked if Ranvir was ok. "She's OK, well we think she's going to be OK," the broadcaster answered. "We think Ranvir may have had an allergic reaction.
