Ralf Rangnick believes Manchester United have a striker shortage after drawing for the fifth time out of the last seven games against Watford.
United drew 1-1 in four games in February before 19th-placed Watford held them to a goalless draw at Old Trafford on Saturday. United had 22 attempts on goal but only three were on target.
Cristiano Ronaldo struck the post in the fourth minute and his performance worsened in what was his sixth start in 22 days. Ronaldo only started on the bench against Burnley in February and he has scored one goal in his last 10 games, while he has been flagged offside 25 times - more than any other player in the Premier League.
Ronaldo, 37, is United's highest scorer on 15 goals and second is Bruno Fernandes on nine. Marcus Rashford, primarily a left winger, has scored five in four months but his form has been dire for over a year while Anthony Elanga has tallied three this calendar year.
Edinson Cavani has been sidelined for the last three weeks with a groin injury but has only scored twice this term and the 35-year-old is expected to leave when his contract expires.
Rangnick has already said it is 'obvious' United need a younger centre forward in the summer but he specifically bemoaned the lack of specialist strikers in the current squad.
"Edinson, as you said, is not available," Rangnick said. "We don't have that many other central strikers. I brought on for the last 15-20 minutes Marcus and Jadon. Almost all the offensive players we have in our squad were on the pitch.
